Please put your seats up and make sure your trays are in the upright, folded position. The party is off to Germany as we celebrate with strudel, bratwurst, and VolksWagens! But most importantly, we raise our steins with The Export, a classic German style BLONDE LAGER. Wonderfully malty, not overly bitter, this elegant, well balanced brew packs just enough slow cold aged punch to make a believer out of the most dedicated ale fanatic! Trust me, get this one in a growler to go for later. Guten Tag! 13.5 Plato, served in a heavy mug (not too heavy, though).

@ City Steam, Hartford CT.
Straw color with a half moon skim retention. Lost it's head before arriving at the table.
Aroma is sweet grain with a little sweet golden apple.
Niether dry nor biscuity, Export is very, very fruity. Spicy fuji apple and Hi-C.
Very meh, much like the brewpub itself.

Reviewed on 9/30/08. On tap at City Steam. Pours a clear yellow with a thick white head. Aroma of wheat and a slight fruitiness. Flavor of wheat, sweet fruits, some flowery hops. So sweet it's almost juice-like. Not a fan of this one.

Poured a medium straw hue with a one finger foamy tan head. There was decent retention and lacing.
The smell featured a grainy malt and a potent noble hop.
The taste was well balanced and consisted of a clean grain and a robust flowery noble hop.
The mouthfeel was of average fullness for the style.
Overall a tasy and easy drinking ale.

Poured from a 64 oz growler the same night it was poured from the tap.
Appearance--Nice deep golden color, notable visible carbonation, decent head retention.
Smell--Nice balance of malts and hops.
Taste/Mouthfeel--Excellent carbonation, nice and smooth going down. Very nicely balanced brew, but nothing outstanding.
Drinkability--I'll definitely pick this one up again, it's not incredible, but it is a very solid offering.

Draught at the brewery: This pours a golden color with a big white head. There were some notes of beer in the aroma. Maybe some citrus in there also. The taste was pretty typical of a Macro for the masses. Im sure that they sell alot, but not to me. A slight hint of butteryness in the aftertaste.

A light transparent yellow color with a big white head that leaves fat rings around the inside of the glass as I drink. Not much aroma at all. Mouthfeel is creamy and tingly at the same time. Flavor is a bit sweet at first, with light vanilla up front. Very delicate, but complex. As it rolls around the mouth, light malt emerges, as well as some honey and toffee. A slight hop bitter aftertaste settles in. Interesting and drinkable for a light beer.
