Sampling a cold 16 oz can poured into a tall weisse glass, can is a gift from Sam the Brewer at City Steam. thank you!
The beer pours a bright clear golden color with a fizzy bleached white head of 2 cm. The head fades almost immediately and leaves several very active streams of carbonation in its stead. The aroma is apparent right from the pour with a bit of grainy malt and some white wine scents with just hints of spicy hop character. All scents are on the light side but all fit the style.
The first sip reveals a light body with crisp texture with very fine tingly carbonation.
Flavor is what would be expected from the nose. Clean malts with some husky grain and a bit of white grape again, with a bit of grapeskin flavor, this then rolls to some herbal and spicy hop finish that lingers long after the swallow. FInish really dries out my palate and makes me thirsty for another sip. Quite a nice version of the style from the brewpub near my work.
