Hazy peach in color beneath a foamy white head; thin lacing with decent strength. A blend of complex pine and fresh fruit (e.g., peach, melon) aromas. The flavors echo the aromatics, with the addition of a stable biscuit-like malt base. The hop profile is a mouthful: fresh, oily, and slightly spicy. A full-flavored IPA; almost drinks like a Double IPA. What a tasty treat.

A - Deep copper color topped by a thick off-white head. Good retention, Sticky lacing in rings, kinda like growth rings in wood, lets you know just how fast you've been drinking.
S - Good balanced hops and malt/grain aroma.
T - Very balanced. Vaguely floral/piney hops and sweet biscuity malts compete. Again very well balanced.
M - Medium bodied, with round full mouthfeel.
D - Lots o' hops nicely BALANCED again, not a hop monster....but like hot sauce; I can take the hottest/hoppiest but if it just don't taste good, I just don't care how hot/hoppy. This one is very good.

64oz growler filled on premises
vampire ale.. hmm.. maybe because its reddish? pour is very attractive. dark red on top to an amber in the bottom. 1/2 cm head which appears very creamy and even. slowly forms itself into islands of bubbles and sheety, thin lacing. looks great.
smells an awful lot like their last ipa (zoot sims).. earthy and musty with super-green vegetation elements present. except here, that smell is combined nicely with the aromatic sweetness of fresh-baked glazed pastries. even some fruity hints.. something lighter like watermelon. complex.
easy drinking ipa here. also tastes alot like the zoot sims (very peaty, perhaps all lines here contaminated by the smoked scotch?).. very light mouthfeel with a medium bitterness and very short on chalk. alcohol is a bit too noticeable in the finish.. the elements of this beer aren't approached in a smooth, fluid manner. something reminds me of envelope glue in this beer as well.. strangely fruity and tart at first with a not-too-pleasant aftertaste. this subsides with further sipping. overall, im left with resinous botanical oils from cheek to cheek.
wish it was a little more balanced, but a noble effort nonetheless and excellent on many surface levels. perhaps this would be better right from the tap as opposed to with a day in my fridge. when i go get my careless love growler, i'll sip a fresh pint and let ya know.
