Pours a one finger worth of an off white head. Black translucent body, light brown around the edges. Good lacing and retention.

Smells like a nice dark lager. Yeasty, dark toasted biscuity malts. Touch of sulphur as expected.

Very malty and clean. Some toasted roasted flavors with a nice fruity lager finish.

Medium thin bodied and medium carbonation. Very clean finish.

Very tasty and quaffable. Nice job Ron.

Chestnut colored with a low head of oatmeal colored foam that sinks slowly. Low aroma of toasty malt and cocoa. Complex flavors of darkly kilned grainy malt, notes of cocoa, subtle bitterness, some leathery fig, slight yeast note. Even mouthfeel, moderate carbonation. Tasty beer, Ron's done it again.

City Steam Dark Lager....

Appearance-dark brown color, large golden head and heavy amounts of carbonation.

Smell-malty, sweet caramel and spice, alcohol appears near the end.

Taste/Mouthfeel-syrupy sweetness, nice balance, maltiness envelops the palate, layered spice and sweetness. Very smooth.

Drinkability-very smooth, nice balance, nice warmer in the Winter.

Overall-a fine beer, well made and balanced, good version of the style.
