Pours a moderate chestnut with a well proportioned nut brown head. Served in a flute glass.
Smell nice and malty with a bit of caramel coming through.
Tastes nicely sweet without too much malt sugar hanging around to cloy you to death. Slightly acidic in it's middle with just enough oak and vanilla to finish off your tounge. Sparsly hopped and that's a good thing.
Moderate in mouthfeel and body. Goes down like butter.
Great beer for a brewpub in freakin' Hartford. If it's on get you some.

Walnut brown colored, but a little lighter toward the bottom of the fluted glass. A small beige head sits atop, and clings tightly to the glass at the inside edge. No aroma that I can find. Flavor is rich with sweet malts and fruit. There's fig and sweet pear, and a bit of cocoa to round it out. A smattering of hops in the finish. Very tasty, not cloying. Moderate carbonation. Excellent beer.

Draught: This was nice. The beer was served in a long flute. It had a dark amber color, with a hint of coppery red in there also. It had a good, strong head to it. Nicely sweet aroma, with some spices thrown in. The tste was really good: it was a nice malty sweet, with some spiciness. Perhaps a bit oaky too. A very pleasant suprise to find this one at City Steam!
