Makers Craft Brewery

Visited here on a tour of breweries in the Norfolk - Va Beach area. Modern facility with an old workshop vibe. Rustic/ indsutrial interior, nice biergarten outside. Good selection of taps, good service too.

Massive place, indoors and out, with extensive outdoor seating and imbibing areas. Rageady, industrial area, one story brick Bldg, with more then ample windows, concrete floors, tons of seating at high tops, couches, benches, or at the bar. Pool tables, TVs with the game on.

Good place to go with a group or with the guys

Quality brew, including growlers, bottles and cans to go. OLD & and OUT OF DATE CAN alert...cans to go in the fridge, 10 months out of date is heads up....better to get a fresh crowler, then rusty cans!

Friendly young lady behind the bar, food truck out side the entrance for some BBQ infused chow.

Parking all around the place on the streets and in a rear lot.

Honestly, the size of the operation reminds me of a former supermarket....however, the feel is good, the selection is robust, including some rather intriguing brews, and the location is easily found. The staff was knowledgeable, the beer good, and I could relax here for an afternoon or two...

 

 

 

Perhaps not for everyone but I think this place can be a real gem for Norfolk. The beer selection right now (4/8/19) is limited to six or seven of their own beers (which basically range from "meh" to "good"). It's a large space with stuff for families and sports fans, as well as bands at night, but also has it's own cigar lounge and cigar store (fully stocked - not just a counter selling Swisher Sweets) so worth going for that alone (if you're a cigar smoker). Staff is real knowledgeable and willing to talk beer, and they do limited runs as well on experimental beers. Only complaint, and something they made need to tweak, is that the cigar smoke is noticeable at the bar outside the lounge and I could see it being an issue. Other than that this place is worth checking out.
