A dark gose.
Appearance - Pours a hazelnut brown with three fingers of bubbly tan head.
Smell - lemon, lemonade, basil, earthy and leafy hops, salt, and sourness, and earthy yeast.
Taste - lemon, lemonade upfront but not as pungent as one would think. The basil, earthy and leafy hops come through next. A surprise note of a roasted malt comes into play from what I can detect. The salt, sourness, and earthy yeast round out the brew.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes sticky and slightly tart with notes of salt.
Overall - An intriguing "dark gose". I believe this is a first for me. This was done in a way that I appreciate not being too sour or too sweet. It's just right. A nice refreshing tipple!
