Essentially clear mahogany pour with copper hue and a finger and a half of bubbly caramel/pale khaki head.
Nose is toasty and malty, nutty, caramel, with slightly spicy and earthy hops. A touch floral.
Toasty bready malt on the palate, some caramel and nutty sweetness, grainy and roasty, with a bright floral and herbal hop bitterness - almost a touch piney.
Crisp medium mouthfeel with brisk carbonation and a deliciously nutty, earthy lingering bittersweetness.
Apparently I have to drink more Altbier - this was great.
