Thanks to Jeff for this one. 750ml waxed and capped bottle into NIght Shift stemware. Shared with schen9303.
Pours almost flat with a slowly rising, coarse head. Nose is cocoa powder, dark chocolate, coffee, molasses and bourbon. Pretty mellow though the flavors are all there. Beer opens roasted malt, sweet soy sauce, chocolate, molasses and cocoa powder. Some marshmallow and espresso beans in the middle with a nice booziness towards the finish. Aftertaste is molasses, tobacco, oak and bourbon. Solid. Body is medium to full with low carbonation. Smooth and soft on the palate and goes down warm with a lingering, sticky aftertaste. A touch flat.
This one's a bit of a miss for me. I wonder if it was bottled correctly. The body is a bit thin, the carbonation is lacking and the flavors, while present, aren't supported by the feel and nose around it.

After Pistol Whip, really looking forward to this 750ML bottle dated 8/23/19. Split with my wife.
The silver waxed cap comes off with the silence of a belly-up goldfish. Nothing. The pour is similarly silent, the bubbles having been removed by some artifice of the bubble fairy. Flat. Ugly.
Nemesis is a flawed beer. The mouthfeel is so heavy, so dull, so thick & cloying, that it interferes with some pretty decent flavor. Flatter than Nebraska. Nice barrel, sweetness that leans to maple, dark chocolate. Background alcohol that comes forward as it warms. A sampler would have been fine.
Having all the carbonation sucked out of this really hurts the beer. Not even average.
