Crowler can. Label is stamped '12/23/20' for fill date.
Black colored body. Brief, fizzy light brown head but this quickly dissipated, leaving some surface bubble activity. No lacing.
Aroma has marshmallow leading with cocoa and vanilla adding in. Smells sweet. Has a suggestive note of higher alcohol associated with barrel aging.
Taste is quite sweet but not tooth ache level. The front of the profile mixes the cocoa, vanilla, and marshmallow in balanced levels; the back end has the barrel notes add the bourbon and dark fruits. There must be a base of dark roasted malts but the added flavors express much more clearly.
Thicker, slightly sticky mouth feel. Carbonation does not express.
Epitome of a sweet pastry stout. Drinks as a sipper, and each sip can be mouth swirled to bring out flavors. The higher ABV% is quite well hidden, but is felt as the glass is emptied. Quite a stomach warmer.
