Look: Cloudy golden with an orange sheen beneath a full-sized head of white. Very good head retention and lacing.
Smell: Sweetish malt with wheat and a touch of banana.
Taste: Lots of wheat but not so much banana and very little else. Still to style, but perhaps a bit too restrained in fermentation character. Still OK.
Feel: Medium bodied and crisp with a fine-bubbled carbonation.
Overall: Pleasant and refreshing.

This little brewery is a beautiful place. Food is nice. The brews are good. Maybe it's the visit to Germany but Germany brews are smooth and easy drinking. This is a nice hefe. The flavors and the smell are subtle. The taste is for the masses. Good for everyday drinkers but not what you would consider special...artisan. But that's probably the point. I would drink this brew anytime. If in the area, get it. Enjoy it. Have a great time in Heidelberg.
