I have a cellar temp 16 oz can pouring into my stemless tulip glass. the label has a date stamp that says 747 02-25. SO Im guessing canned in February 2025.
The beer pours a dark black coffee color with a slightly spongey beige to khaki colored head of about 3 cm. The foam slowly fades to a sturdy surface covering that remains through the sampling. A bit of dense lattice forms when I take a sip or swirl the glass.
Aroma is heavy with roasted malts, some dark chocolate, chalky cocoa powder and maybe hints of toasted coconut, but this coconut may be me hoping it into existence. I rarely get much coconut in these beers and I would love to be hit over the head with it as I am a fan of the coconut flavor and aroma. But alas, I am once again dismayed not to find much.
First sip reveals a medium to light body with prickly active carbonation and very smooth texture. This beer drinks easy and that makes sense with the lower ABV
Flavor is roasted malt , dark chocolate and some light coffee note, even though coffee isnt mentioned. Here I do get a little toasted coconut in the background of the swallow. Never any hop character and this beer ABV is totally hidden (which also checks out!)
AN easy to drink roasty stout that has hints of coconut, but nowhere near enough in this samplers opinion. Glad to have tried this one, but wish coconut was more prominent.
