2019 vintage.
The first installment of Paddy's Foeder-Aged Sour Solera series.
Poured from a 750ml bottle.
Appearance - Pours a amber honey with two fingers of bubbly white head that quickly dissipates.
Smell - spicy earthy and leafy hops, spicy grainy malts, spicy and zesty brett yeast, peach, lemon, hint of honey, oak, and woody aromas, vinous aromas as well.
Taste - spicy earthy and earthy and leafy hops upfront. Then it goes quickly into the tart elements, peach, lemon, spicy and zesty brett yeast, and hint of honey. The oak, woody, and vinous aromas and spicy grainy malts round out the brew.
Mouthfeel - Medium to full bodied with moderate to high carbonation. Finishes tart with the fruity elements alongside the oak and vinous characteristics lingering.
Overall - For my first go at a legit Paddy's offering, this one delivers on all cylinders. I like how all elements balance each other out and that it's not too tart. Well done and worth seeking out if you happen to stumble across it at the brewery or your local YYC liqour store.
