Served inside a clear pint glass at the Ambler, PA location, it arrived without much of a head, but that's how we serve draft beers in the Philadelphia area. Its color is dull golden-amber and it's somewhat hazy. Surprisingly, there's not much aroma for a brew chock full of great hops, but it is still cold. The hops combine for a complex, but not overly bitter taste. This is as pleasantly earthy as it is bitter. Make no mistake, if you don't like hoppy beers, you won't like this. But, there's much more going on, as the grains make an excellent backbone, without being too sweet. Everything works here and nothing should be changed for the better. There's even some good glass lacing. It's a complexly tasting IPA, with great balance and an ideal ABV. What's not to like?
