Twoquila - Civilization has come up with some great flavor combinations, like tequila and lime. We took our Two Roads Persian Lime Gose, brewed it with agave and aged it in authentic tequila barrels from Jalisco, Mexico. Time spent in these barrels imparts an oaky character and subtle notes of blue agave. A touch of fresh lime juice perfects this most delightful 7.5% ABV beer. Salud!

Nucleated Tulip
Look: slightly hazy yellow color. Poured a rich two finger head which dissipated into a ring with light lacing.
Smell: Classic sour smell. Light malt notes, lime, oak wood and cooked agave
Taste: Lime tartness, agave syrup sweetness, light malt, and hints of oak tannins. Some alcohol does come through at the end.
Feel: Moderate carbonation, light in the mouth.
Overall: Its not bad but not amazing. Super interesting ale though. The barrel aging and agave notes are defiantly there.

Can shared with Paul, thanks for the hookup
Lightly hazy light gold color with a quickly dissipating bubbly white head. Tart lemony lime with hints of crackery malt and a touch of salt. Pretty good.

a side project of two roads that i am just learning about through this beer, a neat tequila barrel aged stronger gose, done with lime and agave, a really refreshing and complex beer, nice and salty, i dont mind the extra grain heft and alcohol lift, i was very impressed with this. usually strongly flavored gose with all kinds of treatments isnt my thing, but this is super well done, the lime is natural and fragrant, almost a lime leaf freshness and pungency to it, makes the whole thing seem lighter than it is. the tequila is super apparent right away when we crack the can, spicy woody tequila, strong and earthy and rich, i love how much flavor it brings to the beer, and how the saltiness of the gose seems to highlight it at a few different moments in the drink, really nice pairing there. a nice brine element to this from heavy handed salting, a nice acidity from the lime and the lacto, not too sour to drink, its softened by the wood, this is mouthwatering and juicy and delicious. a very unique take on the style with cohesive inclusion of the lime, agave, and tequila barrel elements, super impressive, and i can still taste the wheat! i will for sure be on the lookout for more from the area two arm of two roads now!

Impulse buy #569 over my beer career, this seemed suitably odd & I need my palate cleared after that last borderline abomination. 16 oz. can with the clever name.
The pour is pale yellow & the nose is tons of agave.
Twoquila is sharp. Highly acidic, this is a balanced tango of the tequila & agave, which is stronger than I’ve ever tasted in a beer. Lime, citrus, & no taste of oak, but it delivers that drying quality to the tongue. The finish is all acidity. No salt? It seems like an odd choice considering the style & the proximity this beer holds to a margarita. The tartness limits the drinkability; I’m splitting the can with my wife & eight ounces is plenty.
Very interesting beer. I approve.

Pours clear, straw yellow in color with one half inch head. Taste is big lime, salt, barrel, and tequila. Light bodied, high carbonation, sweet and salty. Wow is this good. Very refreshing tasting. Captures the beer and alcohol taste perfectly. One of the best beers from the brewery.

Didn't know Two Roads had this off shoot brewery but it sounds like they make some interesting brews
Pours a clear golden with a small white head that disappears very fast
The aromas are very similar to Mas Agave, as expected, just a little less pronounced and less sweet. The agave is more forward here, with the barrel and the lime backing it up
This one is definitely more balanced in flavor than Mas Agave, with the lime flavor up front, mid palate is a bready malt with a bit of salinity and agave on the finish
It's carbonated pretty nice, a little thinner than I was expecting but it's nice and crisp
Overall this is an easy drinking gose, more true to the gose style than Mas Agave, but I still prefer MA, despite it being a lot heavier, the barrel flavors just work better in a brew like this. Still, this was pretty good overall and I might get it again if I see it

Wow, first rating for this new brew from Area Two, the sour beer side project spun off from Two Roads. I haven't had the Synopsis beers, but I remember passing them up mostly because the design was so bad. Had I known they were 2R in the first place, I might've grabbed them, but they just looked like some generic sours that popped up on the market. Unfortunate, because 2R has done some excellent fruited gose stuff in the past, and I have wanted to try Hexotic for years. While I sit here waiting for that beer to become a little bit more widely available, why don't I comment on this, a new tequila-barrel imperial gose w/ agave and lime juice? Yes, I know it's a good idea...
Pour for this one is strikingly similar to how I remember Founders' Mas Agave pouring... who would've thought? An incredibly clear golden colored beer crowed with a thin ring of bone-white foam that fizzles out to just-about-nothing after a few minutes. Each small pour allows the carbonation to dance rather playfully around the body of this brew, but no head ever really makes itself known. Gotta say I dig (and was initially confused by) the clarity here, but the rest of it is just meh.
Nose is a big redeemer right off the bat... wow, this is something. Though it's not as intense or strong as Mas Agave, I feel that may be one of this beer's stronger points. MA was a bit too strong for its own good; this just has a nice flex of funky woodiness combined with the vibrant lime juice qualities, and it doesn't seem like it's going to uppercut me into tomorrow. Then again, I'm probably not the target audience for this sub-sub(-sub?) style... I don't like tequila or margaritas! I pick up a bit of the agave; it almost seems marshmallow-like for whatever reason. Anyway, this smells very good.
On the tongue, this is definitely a balanced affair... strong maltiness with a mostly-crackery flavor comes across right upfront just as snappy acidity enters the arena. Tangling with some bright citrus notes, this cracker-laden grainy profile begins to assimilate with a woody and dense (not to mention surprising) funk right before the lingering finish. Wow, this is something else! Totally has that graham-crackery Brett thing happening... huh. Weird thing I will mention, though... no salinity or minerality to be noted here. I was expecting at least some spice or mineral character, considering this is marketed as a gose, but there is none of that here. Weird, considering salt is pretty common with margaritas. Perhaps Phil prefers his margaritas unsalted? Whatever the reason, I just found it interesting to note the lack of that aspect. Not a huge deal unless that is a deal-breaker for you.
Feel is stiff and dense despite what the appearance may have you believe. This is a strong sour beer (compared to most others in the "fruited gose" style, though this has more in common with "American Wild Ale" at the end of the day), and though the finish is dry and puckering in some senses, the mid-palate is very complex and involved. I prefer this to Mas Agave... there, I said it. I like the format better, I like the slight funk and lesser focus on sweetness, lower ABV, and I just generally dig these more vibrant flavors (as opposed to MA's more tequila-driven, sweet/cloying elements).
