Urban Funk is fermented using a one-of-a-kind mix of wild yeast — found right in our small city by the beer-loving scientists at a nearby university. Our blend is especially rare, having been captured during the 2012 hurricane, Superstorm Sandy. Fermented in concrete and aged in steel, the result is a totally experimental, totally sour and funky beer straight out of Stratford, CT.

A thanks to the creator of the canquest, woodychandler, for this beer. Poured from a 16 oz. can. Has a golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is funky, sour. Taste has plenty pf funk, lemons, slightly sour, finishes dry. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall it's not bad, but not really my thing.

Area Two is a wonderful offshoot brewery of Two Roads, and this beer appears to be an offshoot/update of a 2014 release by Two Roads, their first wild ale. It doesn't state that on the can but the 2 separate entries make that pretty clear. I'm guessing it just fits the brewing profile of Area Two better than the OG. Let's see what it's all about
Pours a bright cloudy gold with a finger of white head that very quickly fades to a thin ring and leaves no lacing
The nose, while light, maintains a nice funk throughout to balance the cirsp malt. I'm picking up on aromas of wet hay, lemon rind, crackery malt, white wine vinegar, and light leather
It really stays the course for the taste, bringing some more funky yet crisp flavors into the mix. On the front end of the sip I'm tasting tart lime, orange juice, bready malt, and sharp oak. The swallow brings notes of acidic white wine, lemon juice, papaya, light pithy grapefruit, crackery malt, and leather
A light medium body pairs with moderately high carbonation, resulting in a zippy and crisp beer. Finishes mostly dry with a kind of fruitiness not typically present in these beers
Other than the looks this is an awesome beer. Hell, I won't even bash the appearance too bad since the can is cool. I'll definitely pick this up again
