Served from the can in a Lagunitas mason jar.
Pours a deep midnight hickory topped by a finger of darkened khaki foam. The nose comprises mild roast, light cocoa powder, rich caramel sauce (can't tell how salty it is, though...), and a touch of milk sugar. The taste brings in more of the same, the caramel remaining rather strong, but never truly transcending its roasty confines. The body is a stolid medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a mostly smooth feel. A solid stout, though the caramel doesn't seem definite enough to warrant top billing, nor does it have enough bodily substance to stick around the mouth very long. Not bad, but nothing I would seek out again.
