Poured from an undated pint can.
On the pour it looks thick and rich. The body is a dark brown, essentially black, and a nice fine 2 finger head forms on top. The head has some good structure and is quite fine. There are a few decent sized floaters in here, but maybe its just an old can. Some nice lacing forms.
Aroma is chocolatey and boozy with a touch of bitter roast. Quite a blunt aroma without much else going on.
Flavor is of baking chocolate and the bitterness associated with it as well as a touch of vanilla extract. Quite dry. Quite stout.
Feel is less thick than I imagined it would be. Again it is quite dry. Based on feel alone it is surprisingly easy to put down, but the flavor does tone that back.
Overall, imperial stouts still aren't for me as the bitterness can be overwhelming, and this one reminds me.of eating cocoa powder. It's alright. Perhaps a bit on the older side.
