This one is about as dark as beer can get. 100% malt, no additional sugars or flavorings. Deep and lasting flavors of coffee, chocolate, and roasted malts.

12oz can. No dating information found.
Black colored body. Two fingers of tan head, results in partial cap and a ring. Leaves behind some large spots of lacing.
Aroma initially smells like cigarette smoke, but this translates to a roasted malt smell withe a milk chocolate note, and a char in the finish.
Taste is dark chocolate malts, with a bit a sweet note from dark berry such as blueberry or black berry. Stills end with some campfire char.
Thinner than medium mouth feel. Has a slight drying finish. Good carbonation.
Solid stout with both a sweet note and a dark char note. Good balance.

Appearance: Pours a dark espresso color with a one finger head that creates a ringlet and archipelago; streaky lacing
Smell: Roasted malt with ashy smoke, Baker's chocolate and blackberry tones
Taste: Roasted malt with some ash, up front; chocolate and blackberry flavors build, through the middle; some coffee tones develop in the finish
Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with moderate carbonation
Overall: The blackberry angle is interesting here as I like my Russian Imperial Stouts to have a dark fruit element; this can sat around for a couple of years but held up nicely
Thanks, xKurtx, for the opportunity

Your Friend Death, 12 oz can dated 4/16/19, 8.4% ABV, poured into Stella Artois chalice.
Deep, silky black with a creamy almond head of 1/2 finger.
Slick coffee and cocoa aromas, with acidic black roasted coffee and a hint of ashtray and blackberry.
Flavor brings a huge wave of coffee-chocolate, the chocolate turning more into the dark bitter cacao kind, with hints of dark berry and grassy piney hop.
Feel is creamy and silky, with a soft carbonation but pleasantly adequate.
Overall, a very delicious textbook Russian Imperial Stout. Very deep, bitter, dark, and roasty. It's a bit too bitter for me, so it's a little rougher to finish, but it is definitely enjoyable and a good example.
