16oz tallboy can, received courtesy of BBThunderbolt. It's a Berlinerweiss brewed with raspberries, and is a collaboration beer by FrinGe and their fellow Whatcom County brewery North Fork. I've had one beer, previously, f om North Fork, a raspberry lambic called Electric Berryland, which was delicious. I'm beginning to think fruited sours might be thoroughly within North Fork's wheelhouse.
Poured into a fluted Goatworks glass, this was a clear ruby red. Very small, pinkish head that vanished quickly. Virtually no lace at all.
I love raspberries, and that's what's happening in the nose department. Slightly sour/tart aspect to the nose as well.
VERY fruit forward, in a very raspberryish way, obviously. Sweeter up front, more tart at the finish, with a wonderful mixture most of the way, although the sweetness is perhaps just a little OTT, but that's probably more a "me" thing.
Fairly light bodied, but a little bit heavier than I expected for the style.
Really nice raspberry Berlinerweiss. Thanks, Terry!
