English barleywine aged in bourbon barrels that previously held a stout, along with orange peel and sweet cherry. Pours copper-ruby with fairly minimal head--no residual lacing. If you enjoy old fashioned cocktails, this will be a treat; it nails the concept. The base barleywine still comes through, though, with nice brown sugar, leather, and vanilla. Given that Riverlands' few barrel-aged stouts so far have been big thiccbois, it's also no surprise that the barrel imparts some chocolate notes from its previous inhabitants, right on the finish.
