Collaboration with Mikerphone Brewing

Imperial Stout brewed with Cocoa Nibs, Toasted Coconut, and Peanut Butter. Born of a mutual love of music, we had Mikerphone over to brew this delicious imperial stout that combined elements from both of our favorite stout bases. We brewed the same base at each location, and added slightly different adjuncts. The results were two beers that had common elements, but show the unique approach from each brewery.

16oz, canned on 01/21/22
L: jet black with a dark brown head
S: sweet dark chocolate, peanut butter, roasted barley, coconut, lactose
T: cloyingly sweet: dark cocoa, peanut butter, coconut, vanilla, roasted barley, caramel, leafy hops
F: full bodied, sticky sweet and syrupy, modest carbonation, very sweet finish
O: this is like a liquid candy bar - it’s way too sweet. It kind of reminds me of those chocolate covered almonds with coconut you can buy at Costco

The worse of the two, and both are not great, sickly sweet and syrupy stouts. Oily black pour with a brown cap. Aromas of sugary vanilla coconut and roasty peanut butter and dark chocolate. Taste is a disaster: sugary sweet adjuncts punish the palate before burnt peanut butter, roasted malt, and big booze leakage destroy any semblance of a good taste. Feel is syrupy, sugary, yet not too heavy and higher in carb.
