Pours gem clear and yellow-gold (SRM 4-5). A short-lived, white head tops out at one inch, then makes a commotion as it crackles and melts to a thin, translucent veil. Lots of fine carbonation race about at first, then faces to an occasional tiny bubble that grows as it rises upwards. There is a nice clinging film that almost produces legs. No lacing forms on tis Pretentious Glass Company Crispy Boi tulip glass. A thin layer of sediment collects at the bottom.
DILL! powerfully grabs the olfactory with lemon dill sauce followed by pickle juice. One cannot understate the presence of dill in the aroma. It is mouthwateringly strong.
The flavor has a shockingly fresh presence of cucumber and dill. This flavor has no resemblance to pickle juice. Both sweetness and bitterness are light. Tequilla is mentioned on the label and is apparent in the flavor. It has a mild puckering sourness that is similar to a Leipzig Gose. The finish is long and tart, carrying the cucumber, dill, and Tequilla into the distance.
The body is light to thin, with the texture of feathery silk. Alcohol is as expected, and the carbonation fills the mouth with a brief scrubbing sensation after each sip.
While this is a novelty beer, it is a resounding success. I will certainly seek it out again, as it is wildly unusual and showcases the brewer's skill via the balance of soft flavors off pungent ones.
