Rico is a full-flavored, premium strong Mexican-style lager that will go down easy, but packs a punch.

I thought I'd be experiencing something pleasant and easy to drink like Modelo, corona or Estrella Jalisco. Instead I got a sweet foamy corny tasting beer very similar to Mickey's or Miller high Life. It's relatively strong and easy to drink but it tastes too much like those bum beer to try again.

Tall white colored head that doesn't Last. Ultra clear yellow colored beer.

Smells lightly malty. No scent of corn. Yeasty and what hop there is is hay in scent.

Starts out kind of neutral. Mildly bitter. Strong Mineral Water Taste. Tastes OK.

Mouthfeel i good.

Overall just average.

I mean I don’t know what more you could ask for in a Mexican Lager. For one it’s 6.5% abv, yet it’s smooth and does not have an overpowered malt taste. Instead a clean, light and smooth flavor with refined carbonation. The flavor is definitely that of a Mexican Lager but with a lighter profile, it’s also not a cookie cutter brewery like Modelo-Corona. I picked up a 6 pack for 8.99 plus tax. Cheaper, stronger, yet higher quality than competitors. Chihuahua company is doing big things!

Clear pale amber; you can hear it fizz when you pour it. The white head dissipates immediately; The aroma is subdued; The flavor is very mild, not much to it; Moderately carbonated; Meh.

Got this from RaulMondesi. 19.2 ounce can into lager glass, canned on 3/5/2019. Pours slightly hazy/cloudy pale golden yellow color with a 1 finger dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice dense spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of cracker, white bread dough, and lightly toasted biscuit; with lighter notes of corn, wood, peppercorn, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. A bit of fruity/yeasty corn aromas, but not overwhelming. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of pale malt/grains and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of big cracker, white bread dough, and lightly toasted biscuit; with lighter notes of corn, wood, peppercorn, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Mild herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, wood, peppercorn, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great robustness and balance of pale malt/grains and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Fairly crisp/clean finishing. Very clean on lager flavors, with minimal fruity/yeasty notes. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness and carbonation. Medium-plus carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy, and fairly sticky mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 6.5%. Overall this is a delicious imperial Mexican lager. All around nice robustness and balance of pale malt/grains and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth and fairly crisp/clean/refreshing to drink with the mildly bitter/drying finish; nicely soft feel. Great clean pils malt/grain showcase, with nice earthy hop presence for the style. Mild on adjuncts. A very enjoyable offering, and impressive style example.

American Adjuncts - even if you put lipstick on a pig, it’s still a pig...

Not an awful beer, just not anything special, either. The look is a tad nice to behold, but there is no head or lacing to mention. The beer smelled like an egg to me - an egg! And it even slightly tasted like one at first, but the the adjuncts took over. Mouthfeel was predictably carbonated to the hilt. Not sure why a craft brewer would even consider adding an adjunct to their lineup, but the beer is a premium Mex-lager, after all...
