Wow! This is a great place. Located in the basement of an apartment building just off one of the main streets in downtown Moscow, this place is an oasis. Set up as the cellar of a Belgian monastery, there's lots of wood and stone, plus plate-glass windows depicting a series of Belgian brewers. The waitstaff is dressed in robes and headdresses designed to make them look like monks and nuns (hence the name of the establishment). All the beers are Belgian (except the non-alcoholic - German Clausthaler), eight on tap, eighteen in bottles. All excellently kept, they are all served in glassware from the respective breweries. Even the beer coasters all correspond to the beer being served. Service was prompt and attentive (gosh, am I really in Moscow?), while the food was good (not great). Prices are high ($5.00 U.S. for 33 cl of most beers), but it is worth it.
