I wonder if it is me - this NE style TIPA universally loved on Untappd - and I like many NEIPAs (though not my go to style - give me a bitter West Coast anytime) - just don't work for me - something in here is like my cilantro effect.
Pours a murky pale yellow with a brownish tinge and 2 good fingers of tight puffy white head.
The aroma hits like a hammer - pithy grapefruit, a hop smear that I cannot otherwise place - there is a bit of dankness.
Initial taste is hop forward - grapefruit, a touch sweaty and dank, but building astringent bitterness takes over and turns into hop burn.
Astringent and aspirin like bitterness - though in there the alcohol is well hidden - but that astringent bitterness just lasts and lasts.
I don’t hate this style but something here just messes with my palate.
