16 ounce can split two ways (10% ABV!)
Pours a clear mahogany to dark amber with a finger of tan/khaki head that fades shortly.
Aroma of fresh bread, toast with caramel and a woody/earthy smell - almost a whiff of smokiness.
Sweet grainy and bready malt on the palate - again toast, caramel, toffee like sweetness, hints of vanilla, and some herbal and burnt caramel bitterness. Does almost come off a bit like a Rauchbier with a whisper of smokiness from the malt.
Full and rich mouthfeel with satisfying bittersweetness - certainly not overtly boozy but an awareness of the 10% ABV.
