Pint on draught at the brewery. It was served with a wedge of fresh pineapple. It pours a hazy, honey-orange color with a thin, milk-white head and sheen of lacing. It smells of pineapple, a crackery malt, and spices. The taste opens with the anticipated pineapple but it's not overly sweet and it segues nicely to a dry, fairly bitter lite ale. The Willamette hops add a touch of peppery spice. It's very quaffable. The mouth feel is lite, crisp, and clean with a pleasant level of carbonation, and it drinks very easily at 5.8% ABV. Overall, Five-Oh is nicely conceived and brewed. The pineapple is front and center but doesn't dominate. This ale is ideal for drinking outdoors on a hot summer's afternoon.
