From the bottle, it pours a hazy golden orange color with a nice off-white head that slowly reduces. The nose gets a dose of tangerine. The mouth, a light bready citrusy brew.

Picked this up at a great beer shop in Darmstadt, Germany, Maruhn Welt der Getränke. Contrary to the listing, this beer has not been retired. Hazy yellow-orange pour with a two finger foamy white head with good retention and lacing. The nose is dominated by the Mandarina hops which really do smell like tangerines. Hints of coriander, bready malts, grass, lemon, and some subtle banana round it out. The taste follows suit with some really nice and juicy tangerine notes along with hints of caramel, coriander, grass, lemon, and orange peel. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with less carbonation than I'm used to with a Weizen and a bit more bitterness than normal on the finish. Overall, they did a great job featuring the Mandarina hops which are quickly becoming very popular here in Germany. I thought this beer stands out from other mainstream Weizens because of that, and the slightly elevated bitterness was overcome by the fresh orange flavor and the drinkability.

Half litre bottle, poured into pint shaker.
Apparently brewed with a newly discovered
Bavarian hop, intriguing!
A: Pale amber, totally
opaque, large rocky head, decent retention and
lacing.
S: Very orangy, notes of yeast, wheat and
berries.
T: Predominantly citrus fruit, hints of
mango and yeast, sharp bitter finish very orangy,
slight negative was slightly watery feel.
M: Lighttexture, moderate carbonation but the content
made it heavy and not easy to finish.
O: Challenging with some contradictions but all in all
pretty decent, admittedly I’m not the biggest
Wheat/Wit/Weissbier fan, but this is as good as
any I’ve sampled.
