From the somewhat out of date bottle, it pours a solid clear amber color with a modest off-white head that slowly reduces and does leave some lacing. The nose gets caramel and roasted malts. The mouth gets the same, with a slight carbonated bite.

A: Amber colour, somewhere between hazy and transparent, medium head, moderate retention, quite a lot of lacing clung to the side of the glass.

S: Freshly mowed hay and a hint of caramel, later on gave way to slight charcoal.

T: Malty, caramel, notes of straw.

M: Thick texture, moderate carbonation.

O: Somewhere between a Franconian Red beer and a darker Märzen, could imagine it going down well with Schnitzel in a Keller.
