A chocolate stout from a German brewer? Interesting! This 0.5l bottle was a gift to me from BA jamesw (Iain), and I enjoyed it at my youth hostel in Liege on 26SEP11.
This bier was an opaque, deep, rich, dark brown. The head was frothy and mocha-hued, lasting well with real good stick. It had a pleasing choco nose with some roasty, bitter notes. It was fairly smooth, but a touch thin overall.
Dry roasty notes and bitter dark choco were noted. It had a touch of mild sweetness but then fades to roasty land. The finish was quite dry, with some bitter, floral notes detected. Not bad at all! Thnx Iain!! Prosit!!
