Pours a hazy, pale orange coloration with a medium, fluffy head. Smells of biscuity malt and tropical/citrus/berry hops, with notes of guava, orange and blueberry. Taste is a good balance of biscuity malt and fruity, slightly herbal and floral hops, with tropical, citrus amd berry notes of guava, orange, blueberry and gooseberry. Finishes with a light bitterness and some guava and orange lingering in the aftertaste. Soft mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
While this doesn't explicitly label itself as a New England IPA, it certainly seems closer to that than an American IPA, with its rather fruity, almost juicy notes and soft'ish mouthfeel, even though it doesn't quite live up to the style's expectations, with a truly juicy and soft flavor profile and mouthfeel. It certainly does show off Mosaic's broad flavor profile nicely though, with tropical, citrus and berry notes, as well as herbal and floral accents, but those notes could still be a little more vibrant and well-defined. Overall, this makes for a decent example of the style that is enjoyable enough without truly impressing though.
