i guess every single brewery in the country has to make a hazy now. i thought this one was better than many, really robust though, not sure i could do a bunch of pints of it, but its rather well made, and somewhat striking, memorable that way, even if the hop profile doesnt stand out as particularly unique. its pretty hazy in the glass but its not dull in luster, and the head has nice retention. aroma is intense hops but somehow without the obvious overdosed burn and bite so many of these suffer from. i get bitter orange peel, pineapple candy, and fresh cut pine out of the hops, a mix of higher alpha northwestern types and some newer school fruit forward varietals i would guess, and a whole lot of them! the flavor is good, and there is some balance here, as i can taste some dry cereal malts up front and its not at all one dimensional. the hops have just a bit of a greenness to them, but its not a flaw, its just a bold recipe, and notes of melon and gin linger on the tongue after the swallow. somewhat more bitter than many of these, but i like that aspect, and i also like the fluffy feel it has. a sort of weedy element is there in the finish too, and the whole thing tastes real fresh. an assertive example of the style, probably the most flavorful beer i had here, and one sure to please the haze bros.

I sampled four beers here, and this one was my favorite. It's very tropical, very hazy, and very drinkable, even at 7.3%. I think they should make this one of their regular offerings given the flavor profile and the popularity of this style nowadays. Well done.
