Pours a dark copper-brown with fog to the translucency. One finger of off-white foam. Aroma is nutty, bready, and mild earthy malts with clove, fig, and soft toffee behind. Semi-sweet in the finish. Flavor profile is fig, toffee, mild molasses and brown sugar. Bready and mild earthy malts underneath. Caramel shows up late, particularly as the beer warms. Mouth feel is medium in thickness, but texture is a bit harsh. Overall, a bit harsh and uneven, but some otherwise steadfast malt notes here.
