Pours a pale yellow with a little fog to the translucency. One finger of white foam. Aroma is banana, clove, fruity yeast, bready malts, and mild grassy hops. Really leans into those yeast notes. Flavor profile continues to lean into the yeast notes, with clove, banana, and fruity yeast all appearing first. Mild grassy and herbal hops mingle with bready and earthy malts behind. Mouth feel is medium in thickness with a fuzzy, crushed velvet texture. Overall, fuzzy and clove forward, with an uneasy finish.

Had on tap at the 38th and Tennyson Brewery
On arrival a beautiful bone white head was present that slowly receded to a ring around the glass and a very light cap. The beer is lightly hazy, and a solidly gold color. I usually expect more haze from a hefe..
Aroma is intensely spicy with a weak hit of banana. This is very yeasty, and even for the style the yeast could be a bit cleaner and more focused. Very yeasty, but a bit tart like something is off.
The taste is similar to the aroma but more focused and not as funky, bit the yeast is still quite spicy and it tastes very fermented. There is some light banana notes, but no malt sweetness leftover to balance. The malts seem a bit heavy on barley for the style, but a nice crackery and biscuity note is present and pretty good at tying things together.
Feel is crisp and dry, but not the most drinkable beer with the big and a bit untraditional hefe yeast.a medium finish but a light very very dry mouthfeel.
Overall this could be made better but I like that creativity I'm tasting. It's still clearly trying to be a German style hefe and not an American style masquerading as a hefeweizen, but I think they need to tweak the yeast or maybe just ferment less, to get a richer sweeter flavor and taste to match the arguably overpowering yeast.
