a fine beer from this new operation on tennyson, but really nothing special, and a little lackluster from a yeast and fermentation perspective, at least for me. its pale enough, bright enough in feel and all, and has a pretty tasty fruity hop profile to it, all that is right, but there is an almost chemical element to the finish, especially at temperature, that just makes it seem to me like something didnt go quite right, maybe something with the enzyme, but it has an almost off belgian taste to it at the end that sort of kills it for me, even though i like the hops from start to finish. i appreciate these guys coming out hot, trying some trendy and ambitious technical beers, and a lot of them were successful, but i think this was actually my least favorite of the handful we had when we checked them out. it needs to be cleaner and drier, i now demand that from a brut type, and no amount of sexy dry hopping can cover for a lackluster fermentation and refinement process. close, but not there yet. i liked their other hoppy beer a lot better, at least at this point...
