Got a sneak peek at this place, and its going to be awesome. A lot of thought went into the design, and a lot of care is going into the brewing of the beer. Lovingly restored railroad warehouse, big open space. Food will be available

I stopped in at Matchwood a few weeks back when vacationing in northern Idaho. On my visit, they had 8 beers on tap plus 3 more as can pours, with a reasonable selection of styles: kölsch, Berliner weissbier, a couple IPAs, a couple pale ales (including one with spruce tips), Mexican lager, porter, and ESB. I got a taster tray, and the kölsch and Pacific IPA were the best for me (it turns out the Pacific IPA uses a kveik yeast ... cool!). The other things are sampled were rather on the plain side.

The location is a cool old industrial building in the middle of town, with lots of wood and exposed metal - clean but rustic, with local artists on the walls. It's very pretty in here - someone clearly put thought and money into the build-out. Service was very friendly and pretty quick, too! I could see myself visiting Matchwood again the next time I find myself in Sandpoint.

Located in the city of Sandpoint this brewery has a cool industrial vibe. The food was delicious. The selection of beer was below average. The quality of the beer I had left much room for improvement. When they get the beer dialed in this place will be really good.

an incredibly hip spot here, feels brand new and thoughtfully designed, gorgeous interior with lots of wood, high ceilings and open feel, shiny equipment behind the bar that looks immaculate, kind of a barn vibe, but modern, its awesome. they even have a cool loft space in here that looks like it would be rad for a small private event or something. their outside space is great too, a big patio off the back and some room for lawn games and such. its also in a neat little plaza area that has a heady coffee roasted and some other little spots in it, very cool! they had a modest selection when we were in, a fun mix of styles but nothing too off the wall. i thought all the execution was nice, enjoying their coffee stout their most, but also being impressed by their doppelbock. the classic ipa was just that, familiar and good, but generic at the same time. it was obvious it was all professionally made, which is nice in a newer place like this. the service was just okay, kind of unenthusiastic, and since we were basically the only people here, that was kind of a letdown, maybe just shy, but then bar tending would be a weird choice for work, anyway, it was fine. we had a great time sitting out back, tossing the ball for our dog in the grassy area, and sipping their beers out of nice glassware. some of the better beers we had around town here, and a really unique place to hang out. food looked better than average too, next time ill eat! ill be back as often as i am up this way, recommended!
