Catch up rating from August. Craig brought me here on our brewery trip through SLC. New and modern. Open with high ceilings, lots of wood and steel. Nice selectio of taps, with a variety of styles. Small bar menu, but did not try the food. Wasn'y too crowded, but easy to get to.

Industrial building a bit south of downtown with very cool mural on side of building. Spacious high-ceilinged taproom with long straight bar on back wall opposite the entry that seats about 8 or 10. Freestanding pizza oven and bottle shop are to the left of the bar, and a half dozen or so tables fill out the rest of the room. There is also patio seating along the front of the building. About 8 beers on tap, and another 8 (the above 5 percenters) available in cans. I had the Sinday and the West Coast IPA: both solid. I also had the club sandwich; it was good. Friendly bartender. Great place to grab a bite and a brew.

didnt know too much about this place when i popped in, just one beer at a beer fest last year, but i was making the rounds in salt lake and am so thankful i put these guys on the list, really some of the better beer i had all weekend, and the pizza was fire, space was cool, and service was solid, good times in here for sure. its crazy how much the scene is blowing up in greater salt lake, but these guys stood out to me. a well repurposed old building, felt newer, cleaner, more built than some of the others in town, no clue what was here before them. you walk into a little foyer with a retail space but right in front of a lovely pizza oven and the place smelled awesome. the brew equipment is visible in the back, the bar is long, the ceilings high, the artwork cool, and the vibe bustling on a friday evening. i had time for two beers in here, both very good, an oat pale ale and maybe the beer of the weekend for me, a coffee version of their common, darker than a normal common, gorgeous coffee complexion, dry and round, just fabulous, i couldnt get enough of that, i hope they can it so i can try it again soon! i also got a pizza and was impressed with the cook, the dough quality, and the combination of toppings, i would come and eat here again for certain. the service was friendly and warm, well informed on the beers too, and i wish i had more time to drink some of their others. the space is great, the beer ahead of the curve, and overall this was the surprise of my utah trip really. highly recommended both for beer and for pizza! ill be back next time i am in town!

edit: five years later still rocking in here, great beers, still kind of underrated it seems, but they have opened a second location and things seem to be going well, original spot was cranking on a weeknight when we were in and the beer was again impressive, some easy drinking german stuff shining this time. cool vibes too, neat art, just a great space. cant see myself coming to salt lake again without popping in for a few...

Nice new place in SLC off Redwood Ave and right by Salt Fire and Shades. Large bar area and 8-10 drafts of their offerings. I had a rye pale ale that was kind of interesting. I'm int he area often, so I'm sure I'll be back.
