A robust Porter with sexy flavors of chocolate, caramel, and coffee. Maple Porter, dark and malty, will surely warm your bones during the chilly winter months, yet is light and diverse enough to be enjoyed year round. balancing the roasty flavors, we added sweet and smooth pure maple syrup from our own Howles Maple Farm. Hunker down, get sappy and enjoy this robust Maple Porter.

Rich dark brown appearance with a decent tan head, good retention, moderate lacing. Nicely balanced maple, molasses, roast malt. Medium body, medium carbonation.

There's some nice artwork on the can, but it's hard to make out with an ultra monochromatic color scheme. Weird. Anyway, pours a deep copper with a super creamy beige head that leaves plentiful lacing in its wake. It's a pretty beer. Smells rather like an Irish stout; milk chocolate, mild roast coffee, maybe a little leathery. The maple doesn't beat you over the head, and I maybe wouldn't even pick it out in a blind tasting, but there is a definite sweetness on the nose. Smells almost like toffee. You definitely get maple syrup on the tongue, but again, it's subtle. It plays exceptionally well with the roasted grains and malts. Nicely done. Fairly robust of body (think the northern end of medium-bodied) and yet very soft on the tongue; hyper-drinkable @ 7%ABV, which is dangerous. I like this a lot and need to check out more from this brewery.
