Taking the notion of bubble tea to the beer side of beverages, the tandem of Front Porch and Skygazer create an explosion of tropical flavor with the aid of pink guava for a most smoothie-like session.

Boba Bliss Pink Guava pours on the peachy pink side of cream while crowning with a frothy white cap. As its tangy tropical scent rolls onto the nose, it carries elements of citrus, cream, taffy and sourdough. Sweeter flavors of those taffy and cream influences greet the tongue like a tropical sherbet, rife with guava, vanilla, shortcake and agave.

As the the sweet taffy favors extend across the middle palate, its sweet cream is saturating to the mouth. A rise of tartness allows for the acidity of green apple, white grape, lime and lemon to cut through the sweetness and to transition into a full guava flavor in all its passionfruit, papaya, mango and pineapple-like qualities. A clean lactic sourness closes the session with continued acidity and a cleaner, less sweet finish.

Medium bodied, creamy and quite plump to start, the marshmallowy upstart finishes tropical and wine-like with a slight pectin bite that accents a slight tea-like effect in aftertaste. Boba Bliss is a fantastic smoothie sour ale that should show more tea-like attributes considering its name.
