Collaboration with Branch And Blade Brewing
We love Blanch and Braid's Eclectic Dove sour series so much that we decided to have Travis, Jerry and Dennis down to CT to brew up a new one with us at Twelve Percent! Sour Ale brewed with Blackberry, Banana, and Peanut Butter.

What to expect from a peanut butter, banana and blueberry anything, much less a beer? As the pint can empties, this thick liquid fills the clear glass liter mug. It's murky and there's no head. Looking for glass lacing is already a joke. It's amazing that there's some visible carbonation, considering how viscose this is. The color may be best described as tan-orange-mauve, but whatever, it doesn't appear much in beers. There is peanut butter in the aroma, it's almost all peanut butter. For the nose, there's very little banana, nor blackberry. It drinks at least as thickly as it pours. No one could complain about a thin body here. The best news from the taste buds is the banana is quite subdued, almost unnoticeable. There is a modest blackberry contribution and there's plenty of peanut butter. It is nicely soured, overall. So, the question is: Do you like the combination of banana, blackberry and peanut butter as one amalgate taste? It's very peculiar and original, but this could only work for some. It's also modest enough that those that like it can easily have another.

This was weird, but I actually really enjoyed it. Good tartness from the blackberry, with a good peanut butter flavor and subtle banana. Something that worked that I didn’t expect to work!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
