From the bottom of the can: "11:45 NEVER STOP LOOKING UP"
Appearance: When cracking the can open there were junks that popped out and got stuck to the tab. It pours a very ugly murky brown-orange color. It looks a bit like light colored mud. It is opaque and there are numerous chunks in the glass of various sizes that somehow remain suspended. There are massive bubbles in the glass, each one is about the size of a dime but some are a bit smaller and some are nearly as large as a quarter. It is probably the weirdest and most unattractive beers I have ever seen. As the large bubbles start to pop it leaves a weird looking residue on the inside of the glass which resembles oily fingerprints.
Aroma: There is this CO2 burn that hits the nose first, then a bit of what smells like wood varnish and then coconut sun screen. It doesn't smell like fresh or toasted coconut, but specifically sunscreen.
Taste: Up front there is this very tart character. It's difficult to pick out any specific flavor because the beer curls the tongue from tartness before it can really identify a flavor. After this there is a bit of coconut flavor mixed with very sour lime. It has a very artificial coconut flavor which is off-putting.
Mouthfeel: The beer is extremely tart. It is difficult to really get a feel for the body of the beer because it plays havoc on the tongue, but it feels a bit like medium-full. It leaves an awkward chalky residue on the teeth and palate after each sip. It is an extremely awkward beer to drink. Not pleasant at all.
Overall: The label states that this is a "sour ale with kiwi, guava, tangerine, coconut, cream flavor and milk sugar." The beer lacks all of the previously advertised flavors with the exception of coconut, which comes across more like the coconut flavor you would get on Italian Ice rather than actual coconut. It feels like it was a waste of fruit. This was a very disappointing beer and it was bad enough that I would be very skeptical of buying future beers from this brewery. I highly recommend against buying it.
Unfortunately this ended up being a drainpour which is pretty rare.
