Poured from a bomber into a Pilsner.

M: thick, creamy, full, spread it on toast!
O: outstanding, thoroughly enjoyable, almost a meal in itself! Highly recommended.

Big flavors slightly win out over big ABV. Looking forward to aging a bottle for 2-3 years, then trying again.
Have a feeling this will get better and better with age.

Bottled 11/25/14.
Pours a hazy dark crimson-orange with a foamy dark khaki head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Foamy streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of toasted malt, dark fruit, candied fruit, caramel, and toffee aromas. Taste is much the same with toast, caramel, toffee, dark fruit, and port wine flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of toast bitterness and an alcohol kick on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and sticky mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with a nice mix of malt, dark fruit, and sticky sugar characteristics all around.
Serving type: bottle.

Big malt and alcohol on the nose with oak and vanilla combine to suggest bourbon. Pours brilliant chestnut under a 1” tan foam cap. It enters with rich caramelly malts, vanilla, alcohol, and a touch of roast bitterness accentuated by the hops. The hops tone down the roast, pulling the beer back from any suggestion of coffee. It when the tastes meld together they suggest bourbon but the body is big, luscious and chewy.

Beautiful auburn color with plenty of long-lasting foam. Tangy and spritzy on the tongue.
Sweet and caramel flavored with that rusty Old Ale taste. A classic, but so strong and hot with alcohol. Sugary and tastes like sweet Vermouth. Roasted malt and cola. Rather sharp.
An interesting powerful late-night tipple. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Beer Revolution in Oakland.

Sampler pour at the brewery. Beautiful dark amber color with residual head and clinging lacing. Nose is a mix of malt and booze with a nice dried fruit and carmeled apple note. The taste is very boozy, but smooth and highly drinkable. Unfortunately the alcohol overpowers a bit on the taste and the beer doesn't live up to the promise delivered in the nose. My pour was very full in mouthfeel; no carbonation issues that others have noted.

Poured from 22 into tulip
Murky, some decent lacing. Not much going on. Minimal head. Good legs from the booze
Again, not much. Sweet caramel, booze, red apple
Alcahol well hidden, but not as complex as I was hoping from such a big beer. Some light fruit character, lemon peel, caramel.
Light for the abv, would like a bigger mouthfeel for what I thought it was...11.4
Mediocre, my first offering from dust bowl, I'll probly try therapist next if anything. All the dust bowl products seem to sell really well in my store, more of the hop-forward beers though.
