Tasted at the brewery June, 6th 2014.
Described on the menu as "A Belgian classic using Pilsner malt and German specialty malts, spicy, fruity character... it's a sipper".
Clear yellow in color, small, thin head of medium bubbles.
Some banana and clove on the nose, but smells more like Munich hefe than a Belgian trippel.
Banana and clove flavors, some biscuity maltiness, hint of a funky, resinous hop varietal. Tastes boozier than listed ABV.
This does not taste like any tripel I've ever had. Yeast flavors taste more German. Off putting flavors. Slightly astringent. Weird, and not in a good way.
