I had this on tap at Willibee's in Santa Rosa (at least I think this was the one - it was just called Imperial Stout but it was listed at 11.5%, the Dust Bowl website doesn't list a beer just called "Imperial Stout," and the character profile seems to fit this.)
It's a nice-looking beer, black with a rich brown head that lasts and slowly shrinks.
Aroma is fairly mild for the style but nice with some roasty chocolate and rummy prunes.
Taste is similar but more impressive, roasty chocolate, rummy prunes and raisin. It has a nice balance of roasty-leafy bitterness and rich rummy sweetness, all noticeable yet balanced and not overly assertive. It has good, full-bodied character yet is very easy to drink. I've had more nuanced and complex imperial stouts, but this is great.

On tap at Spokeasy Public House
A: Pours basically black with a creamy rich khaki head that settles to a light layer and leaves some nice lacing.
S: Rum and smooth bourbon up front but not dominating, dark and bittersweet chocolate, roasted malt, molasses, and a touch of spice.
T: Smooth rum and bourbon, a little spice, milk chocolate, a little roasted malt, burnt toast, earthy, molasses, and a touch of alcohol as it warms.
M: Medium to full body, moderate carbonation, creamy smooth. Alcohol is well hidden throughout.
O: Very enjoyable. I love when barrels other than just bourbon are used and the bourbon/rum combo works quite well. They probably could have gotten away with an even stronger barrel presence.
