Poured from 16 oz. can into pint glass. Super dark, with 1/2 inch head on a non-aggresive pour. Good nose of cocoa and fruit (?). Taste and feel? Ok, goes down nice and smooth, no notice of the 9% ABV, actually feels a bit thinner than it looks The taste? Yeah, that's pretty good...cocoa for sure, some dark fruit notes, but really what clinched it was that the lingering (but not long) taste was that of the middle of a cherry Tootsie Pop! Cherry notes come out later to me, and along with the cocoa and distant hint of vanilla...it's a Tootsie Pop. Yes, this is my reaction, YMMV, but a very good and non-traditional, stout.

On tap at Dust Bowl Brewing
A: Pours nearly black with a frothy cocoa brown head that settles to a light layer and leaves a little spotty lacing.
S: Chocolate covered berries, earthy, Roasty, smooth coffee, a touch of vanilla, and a little toffee sweetness.
T: Roasty, lots of dark chocolate, earthy, berries come through nicely, smooth coffee, a little vanilla, and a little toffee sweetness.
M: Just a bit on the fuller side of medium body, moderate carbonation.
O: There was so much going on in this one I had to try it. Really nicely balanced with everything getting it's chance to shine. A little lactose to fill out the body and add a touch more sweetness wouldn't be bad, but as it stands, really enjoyable stout.
