Science will try to tell you that the tongue can't detect more than 80 bittering units. This hop-centric imperial IPA will not leave you wanting more. At over 100 IBUs, Therapist is surprisingly easy to drink. Big bold hop aromas and flavors of citrus tropical fruit and pine are bracketed by light malty sweetness that does not overpower. A healthy addition of wheat in the grain bill adds body and mouthfeel.
This hop-centric imperial IPA treats you to a heavy dose of hops that won't leave you bitter. Take a seat (you'll need one) and leave your worries to the Therapist.

Pretty sweet and hoppy imperial IPA. It's a bit alcoholic but it is 10% after all. Really good overall

22 oz. bottle consumed in a standard pint glass. Rich color, surely indicative of its dankness and high ABV.
Taste is a bit different than expected. Balanced by widely separated bitterness and malty components. Nothing down the middle about this (triple?) IPA. Improved (with slight warming) as it was sipped.

Deep gold with a minor chill haze. Topped by 1.5 fingers of pillowy off white dense foam of outstanding duration. Nice balance between malty goodness and bitterness. The body is classic imperial IPA; fairly heavy body but clean finish.

Poured from a bomber into a standard pint glass.
Look: Clear dark yellow with a long lasting white head that is medium in height.
Smell: Hoppy with a bit of grass and malt.
Taste: Lemon blends with hops to create a well balanced brew with a lingering pine bitterness.
Feel: This is where this beer finally hits its peak. Outstanding high in mouth feel with a crisp, clean finish.
Overall: A very solid old-school IPA. A good choice for any beer aficionado.

Look- 4.5 because it looks pretty darn good. Slightly cloudy amber orange.
Smell 4.5 because it has pleasant floral qualities without being overly hoppy
Taste 4.5 because it has a distinct bitter with a well balanced light maltiness and hides its alcohol well, and no off flavors. It definitely has a pleasantly lingering hop bitterness.
Feel- 4.5 because it has a nicely balanced carbonation I would describe as medium, and it drinks smoothly and is pleasant in the stomach and brain.
Overall 5 because there is no perfect beer so a 5 is given because it comes pretty close… well I could have gone 4.75 because it’s a little price at $7.50 for a 19.2 oz can.
extra therapy: the beer goes beyond itself by teaching me that one of it every third day will help extend my life. this is because it could replace my 1-2 a day 9% 19.2 oz as 1 therapist every 3 days. this is because of its advancedly engineered alcohol content.
its 10.4% can give quite the nice buzz at 19.2 oz. it seems to satisfy the buzz enough that for now, one can is enough.
bottom line is the big picture includes less calories and alcohol with better satisfaction. lets hope it lasts…
