Mangotango Sour IPA

This was the first beer from Talea that I ever bought as I picked it up a few weeks back up at Cable Beverages. Never heard of them before and it was hard finding out anything about this beer, but the label had me intrigued. The can said Sour IPA but this was listed as a New England IPA on here, which this certainly was not. It was fine for a summer night like this but in the end, this came across as a bit muddled as I couldn't quite pinpoint it!

A solid mango hue could be seen as I poured this out as the beer seemed quite thick with a decent head topping it off. No lacing whatsoever was left behind there wasn't any carbonation in this either. Heavy mango, syrup, and some sourness in the nose as the taste was just as tropical and sweet with a good amount of honey and crystalline sugar in this as well. This had "Mangotango" written on the label and that would be a great way to describe this beer as I could feel the burn go right down during every sip, with a hint of it staying around after I finished this off.

There wasn't a lot of booze here but this ended up feeling every bit as strong as it was in actuality. The slickness didn't linger either as there wasn't much flavor or resin left on my palate once this was finished off. While not a bad beer, this needed some refinement and just seemed a bit too one-dimensional for me. Canned on 3/23 with "QUARANTANG" written above it, this might be up your alley if you can't get your hands on Hudson Valley or Tilted Barn.

Delightful citrus blast. Exquisitely refreshing.
