Pours a slightly hazy amber, 1" head that settles out to a thick ring, light lacing. Nose is a good balance of earthy hop, honey, toffee, roasted malt, and spice. Taste is well-balanced as well - honey sweetness rather than a deeper, roasted caramel malt, but spiced hops prevent it from getting too cloying. Mouthfeel is smooth with a bit of carbonation to add some crispness. Overall, a solid offering, though would like a little more complex malt flavor.

2nd try on this one sees it rather more murky and lacking in strong head and lace formation. Nose remains sweet with a touch of spice mixed in. Taste is likewise honey sweet with light toffee, with lacking in depth; did find the finish a bit more cloying than in the previous iteration. A hint of alcohol burn as well. Feel was also a little more smooth and heavy.
