This happy little accident of a pale ale was originally considered a tasty mistake but became so popular it replaced the beer it was supposed to be. It's smooth and lightly hopped with citra hops for a boost of flavor, but remains in the easy sipping category.

Beautifully clear, amber in color under a persistent cap of foam and streaks of dripping lace.
Light nose of caramelized sugar abd herbal hop.
Complex malt and grain flavors dominate in a light body.
Full of character for a smallish beer this drinks like a good British Bitter.
The finish is dry with lingering grassy hop notes.

Pours a clear golden honey with a finger of foamy head that slowly dissipates to a thin ring with a little lacing. Aroma of grain and citrus. Taste follows nose.

A: Pale tangerine orange has a slight haze factor but generally objects were distinguishable on the other end. Spacious macro-bubbly carbonation builds upon a foamy and rigid antique white head that sat a modest one point five inches with a steady retention rate. The great glass decoration showed sticky waves of ample lace in all its glory.

S: Tart, acidic and lightly sour tropical pineapple were first on the nose. Some pear juice and lime add backing while some apple-peach fruitiness adds the accents. A hint of sweet tropical arrives late to the show while some final apple-sauce notes are noticed along with some wet pine and spruce hopping.

T: The flavor was limited in appeal, oranges and dry pine being the most focused. A nice malting of barley was the backdrop to some tart and dried fruitiness of indistinguishable nature. Some dry citrus with a finale of dry bittering hop flower fade concludes.

M: The mouthful was crisp from the sharp carbonation with a frothy building texture on the tongue. Medium body overall made for just an average experience.

O: Overall a basic and standard pale ale, at times muddled hop flavors that really didn't stand out, nor did it necessarily disappoint. A place card holder as I would like to say. Finish was basic, detergent like in nature with a powdering and dry monotonous hop offering that is best described as generic.

From a 16oz can dated 8/12/21. From the brewery website: “ This happy little accident of a pale ale was originally considered a tasty mistake but became so popular it replaced the beer it was supposed to be. Smooth and lightly hopped with citra hops for a boost of flavor, but remains in the easy sipping category.” Pours a slightly hazy amber color. Lots of malty flavors on the nose and palate. Bitter finish.
